What is Local?
Local (sometimes called FWDLocal in product stories) is FWDLink’s nearby layer: a Pages directory of people and businesses, plus a marketplace of listings — for sale, hire, jobs, and community posts.
Your FWDLink page is still your home base. Local is how that page (and your listings) get discovered by people browsing nearby.
Two surfaces
| Surface | What you browse | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Pages | Local pros and businesses | Find who to hire; get found when you’re listed |
| Marketplace | Individual listings | Sell an item, post a hire job, share a request |
Open Local from the main nav (Local), then choose Pages or Marketplace for your city.
How you show up
- Have a FWDLink page with a username / handle.
- Opt in to be listed as a local pro (city, trade, and how you serve customers).
- Optionally add marketplace listings tied to that same page.
- Neighbors browse
/local/(or your city’s Local hub) and open your page or listing.
You control what appears. Turning on Local listing does not publish your private albums.
Local vs your page vs FWD
- Page — your public profile and featured content.
- Local — discovery nearby (directory + marketplace).
- FWD link — private or directed share to specific people (not a Local post).
